Migrating your clients to newer Ultrium LTO technology

This is a great time to help your customers modernize their data backup technology for several reasons.  We all understand how important it is to keep offline data backups in case of disasters and the unexpected.  Tape technology continues to be a key part of modern storage topologies, from hyperscale cloud providers down to midsize corporates and SMB customers. It's ability to continuously innovate, while providing compelling TCO advantages and a unique barrier against cybersecurity threats, make it more essential today than it has ever been.

The opportunity here lies with customers that have benefited from LTO-4 and LTO-6 technologies for years.  Here are a few reasons why you should actively seek out customers using this technology and help them move to the newer LTO-7 and LTO-9.

LTO-4 tape cartridges are being discontinued in 2022

Any customer with LTO-4 tape drives will have to upgrade to newer technologies if they want to continue buying new media.  The sooner you help them identify this situation, the sooner they can prevent issues from rising up in the future.
